solange- a very beautiful african woman who was in nursing school before she was arrested and thrown into jail.
 
balsam--has been in this country for 32 years, a wife, mother, a christian, came here at the age of 2 from iraq. She is married to an american and has 3 children. If she goes back to Iraq she will be killed as a traiter to her country and religion.
 
rita-- came here from albania and has been in many different jails, and has fought for 5 years now to stay here with her husband. They have gone through every cent they can scrape together for lawyers.
 
navaratte- came here at age 3 from mexico, his entire family is here. he lost and was sent back to mexico where he had not been in 50 years.
 
one man from jordon did not want to continue to live If he is sent back to his country. he is afraid of never seeing his wife and children again. He does not want to go on living without them.
 
one lovely young woman working on her masters degree, working in a hopsital in florida where her husband is living. She is in jail in michigan. Where her husband cannot get up here to visit.
 
a young mother in jail in michigan has a baby in new york with friends. her husband is in another jail, where? she does not know.
 
a very sweet young woman from Nigeria, came here to keep from being castrated by her husband. was arrested and eventually sent back to Nigeria to be maimed and possibly even killed. In Nigeria her husband has that right.
 
one very young sweet girl from venezuela cried hysterically until we were able to get her in contact with her family. they did not know where she was.
 
one very shy timid young girl sat in jail , crying as she watched the horror of the tsunami  sweeping over her island of sri lanka. not knowing if her family were alive or dead.She came here after being gang raped and her father and brother murdered.
 
A young man from Jamaica is in jail. He came here with his wife and 2 small children.  All he wants to do is go home and take care of his family.
 
There are many very young chinese and Latinos that come here. They end up in jail for whatever reason and are scared to death.  Many do not speak english. They are very sweet, young, naive and do not understand what america is all about. All they know is the inside of a jail cell.
 
How many times are we totally horrified when we hear of americans being jailed in foreign countries? And yet, what we are doing  here in this country doesn't seem to bother  us.
